A developer recruited from Norfolk

“Nothing beats homegrown!”

Netmatters are proud to announce that our 4th Scion candidate has now finished their training and has taken the position of Junior Developer. Our first 2 scions that entered the program just one year ago are now close to becoming fully trained software developers. We are now in a position where we have spare development resource for the first time in 5 years!

How Did We Do It?

Once we realised that there was a shortage in developers throughout East Anglia we took it upon ourselves to develop a training programme tailored to teach enthusiastic candidates the basics of development languages used here at Netmatters.

With a winning combination of online learning courses through Treehouse, entry level development tasks and mentoring from our Senior Developers each of our candidates have quickly improved their skill sets allowing them to apply these to real world applications.

All our candidates are now working full time as Junior Developers and have proven to be a real asset to both their teams and the company in just six months.

How Can We Do This for You?

We have a method which works and you can be a part of it too by sponsoring a candidate.

Our goal is to create more Scions which can ultimately fill the skills shortage within the region. Sponsoring one of our candidates means that you will have direct input and influence on the technology and methodologies they learn, tailoring them specific to your businesses requirements.

Does your business develop using Laravel, ASP, C++ or something else?

We appreciate that there are multiple ways to approaching software development which is why we have developed a variety of training programmes to meet the different needs and requirements.

How Long Does It Take?

Everyone learns at different levels and the technologies being learnt will have an impact on how long it takes for a candidate to become a Junior Developer.

Ideally, we would look to keep all candidates on for training for a minimum of six months, but if you require their input sooner or they prove to have a working understanding of their technologies then they can be hired in a shorter time.
