Discover Netmatters' New Year's Resolutions

What we’re committing to this year and why it matters to you

At the start of the year, many businesses receive advice on what they should be doing differently. New tools to adopt. New risks to address. New trends to follow.

We wanted to take a different approach.

Rather than telling you what to change, we’re sharing the commitments we are making as a digital partner. These are the principles guiding how we support our customers, develop our team, and contribute to the wider business community. They are practical, measurable, and designed to build long-term trust.

1. Making AI Clear, Practical and Accessible

AI is becoming an important part of many organisations’ future but understanding where it genuinely adds value is not always straightforward.

Our commitment this year is to help businesses approach AI with clarity. Through structured discovery workshops and consultancy, we focus on identifying real operational challenges and mapping them to achievable outcomes. The aim is not to adopt AI for its own sake, but to build a clear roadmap that supports productivity, decision-making and sustainable growth.

For businesses unsure where to begin, a conversation with our Managing Director, James, is often the most effective starting point.

2. Strengthening Cyber Protection Through Prevention

Cyber security continues to be one of the most significant risks facing UK businesses. Too often, confidence in security is based on assumptions rather than evidence.

We are committing to a stronger focus on prevention through cyber audits and risk assessments. These provide a clear, independent view of vulnerabilities across systems, processes and people. By understanding where risks exist, businesses can prioritise improvements and reduce the likelihood of disruption.

Our aim is to give customers confidence through visibility and preparation, not uncertainty.

3. Aiming to Give Away 50 Laptops Through Laptops 4 Learning

Because access to technology should not limit opportunity.

This year, we are committing to giving away 50 refurbished laptops through our Laptops 4 Learning scheme. The aim is simple: to help students, job seekers, charities and community organisations access the technology they need to learn, work and progress.

We work with local businesses to securely refurbish surplus laptops, ensuring all data is removed to UK Government standards before devices are passed on. By extending the life of existing equipment, the scheme supports both digital inclusion and more sustainable use of technology.

If you are a business with unused laptops, or an individual or organisation who could benefit from one, we would love to hear from you.

4. Launching a Business Phone System That Finally Makes Sense

Because business telecoms should be simple, clear and good value.

This year, we’re incredibly excited to be launching a new business phone system! Our phone system is made to remove the usual frustration around telecoms, with one clear monthly cost per user, UK calls included, hardware covered, and proper support from day one.

Plus, we will beat any like-for-like quote, buy you out of existing contracts where possible, and handle the switch with minimal disruption! No upfront hardware costs, no confusing bills, just a reliable, modern system that scales as your business grows.

If your current phone setup feels overcomplicated or overpriced, this could be a much-needed refresh.

5. Building Long-Term Digital Partnerships

Effective digital support is about more than delivering a service. It’s about understanding a business, its goals, and how technology can support them over time.

This year, we are reinforcing our commitment to long-term partnerships. That means clearer communication, closer alignment with our customers’ objectives, and solutions designed to last. The results speak for themselves:

  • 350 of our clients use two or more of our services
  • 999 customers have stayed with us for at least three years
  • Over 200 have been with us for more than ten years

Strong relationships lead to better outcomes, both technically and commercially.

6. Supporting Our People and Building a Strong Work Culture

We care deeply about how it feels to work at Netmatters, because that experience shapes everything we deliver for our customers.

In our latest staff survey, 98% of our team said they feel comfortable asking for guidance, 96% feel supported by their manager, and 31% have been with us for over five years. Those numbers matter to us because they reflect a workplace built on trust, support, and long-term commitment.

This year, we’re helping our people grow their skills, so they can tackle challenges confidently and continue delivering the best possible support for our customers.

7. Continuing to Create Opportunities Locally

As part of our wider responsibility, we remain committed to supporting employment, training and development within our community. In 2025, we were pleased to be presented with The King’s Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity and we placed our 200th Scion into employment

This year, we are setting a target to bring a further 25 people into employment through our programmes. Alongside this, we will continue reviewing how we operate to ensure our growth is responsible and sustainable.
