At Netmatters, we believe that everyone deserves access to technology - especially when it comes to education, personal growth, and new opportunities. That’s why we run Laptops 4 Learning: a scheme dedicated to getting free, refurbished laptops into the hands of those who need them most. As more of life, learning, and work moves online, having a reliable laptop isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.
Whether you're a local business looking to donate your old tech, or an individual or organisation in need of devices - you’re in the right place.
"We're incredibly grateful for the generous donation of laptops we received. These devices have already made a tangible difference to our conservation and education work, enabling our teams to deliver more impactful programmes and engage effectively with our communities." - ZSEA (Zoological Society of East Anglia)
Laptops 4 Learning is our way of giving back to the communities we care about. We collect pre-loved laptops from businesses, securely refurbish and reset them, then donate them to people who need access to a device but can’t afford one. As a signatory of the UK Government’s IT Reuse for Good Charter, Laptops 4 Learning follows nationally recognised standards for securely, ethically, and sustainably refurbishing and donating devices.
This scheme is about more than just recycling equipment, it’s about opening doors. A donated laptop could help a student do their homework, an apprentice complete their coursework, or a job seeker apply for work. Through this scheme, we can ensure that no one is held back by a lack of access to the tools they need. Plus, every time we refurbish a device, we perform a high-level data destruction meeting UK Government Standards to give you peace of mind that your donated laptop will go to its new owner clean and ready to use.
There are no strings attached, just a shared mission to help learners of all ages thrive and to reduce digital inequality in Norfolk and beyond.
We welcome applications from:
Whether you’re supporting a classroom of children or simply trying to upskill yourself, if a laptop could make a difference, we’d love to help.
"We are extremely grateful to have received the reconditioned laptops from Netmatters. These devices will significantly improve our operations—providing volunteers with reliable access to mandatory online training, whilst supporting a vital backup resource to maintain continuity of our services." - Mid Norfolk Railway
If you’re a business with surplus laptops collecting dust, don’t let them go to waste. By donating your unused equipment, you can give someone a valuable head start and help reduce e-waste at the same time.
Every donated device is:
Your donation can help bridge the digital gap for someone right here in Norfolk. Plus, it’s a great way to show your business’s commitment to sustainability and community impact.
Whether you’re looking to give or to receive, Laptops 4 Learning is designed to be easy, transparent, and impactful. We’d love for you to join us in making digital access fairer for everyone. If you want to apply for a laptop or donate laptops, you can reach us using the contact form below.
