Helping Our Community Stay Connected, Learn, and Thrive

At Netmatters, we believe that everyone deserves access to technology - especially when it comes to education, personal growth, and new opportunities. That’s why we’re proud to officially launch Laptops 4 Learning: a scheme dedicated to getting free, refurbished laptops into the hands of those who need them most. As more of life, learning, and work moves online, having a reliable laptop isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Whether you're a local business looking to donate your old tech, or an individual or organisation in need of devices - you’re in the right place.

What is Laptops 4 Learning?

Laptops 4 Learning is our way of giving back to the communities we care about. We collect pre-loved laptops from businesses, securely refurbish and reset them, then donate them to people who need access to a device but can’t afford one.

This scheme is about more than just recycling equipment, it’s about opening doors. A donated laptop could help a student do their homework, an apprentice complete their coursework, or a job seeker apply for work. Through this scheme, we can ensure that no one is held back by a lack of access to the tools they need. Plus, every time we refurbish a device, we perform a high-level data destruction meeting UK Government Standards to give you peace of mind that your donated laptop will go to its new owner clean and ready to use.

There are no strings attached, just a shared mission to help learners of all ages thrive and to reduce digital inequality in Norfolk and beyond.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from:

  • Educational organisations like schools, colleges, and universities
  • Charities and community groups working with people in need
  • Individuals, including students, key workers, apprentices, and anyone struggling to access a laptop for learning or work
  • Whether you’re supporting a classroom of children or simply trying to upskill yourself, if a laptop could make a difference, we’d love to help.

A Call to Local Businesses: Turn Your Old Tech into a Lifeline

If you’re a business with surplus laptops collecting dust, don’t let them go to waste. By donating your unused equipment, you can give someone a valuable head start and help reduce e-waste at the same time.

Every donated device is:

  • Securely wiped of all data to CESG CPA - Higher Level data sanitisation standards. A Data Destruction Report is generated and retained for every device to ensure full accountability and traceability.
  • Fully refurbished and reset by our experienced IT technicians
  • Distributed directly to someone in the community who genuinely needs it
  • Your donation can help bridge the digital gap for someone right here in Norfolk. Plus, it’s a great way to show your business’s commitment to sustainability and community impact.

How You Can Get Involved

Whether you’re looking to give or to receive, Laptops 4 Learning is designed to be easy, transparent, and impactful.

We’re proud to be launching this as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our local community, and we’d love for you to join us in making digital access fairer for everyone.
