In May, we were thrilled to announce that we had been recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity 2025 for the development and success of our Scion Scheme! As one of only 197 organisations nationally to be presented with this prestigious award, it was an honour for our Scion Scheme to be celebrated and we can’t wait to continue supporting new and upcoming developers through the scheme.
This year marks the 3rd year of The King’s Awards for Enterprise, which reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue HM Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy by honouring outstanding UK businesses. Our Scion Scheme, which supports and provides a career pathway for low-income or unemployed individuals, was recognised in the Promoting Opportunity category.
The Kings Award For Enterprise
On 12th June 2025, Managing Director, James Gulliver celebrated the award at Windsor Castle, by meeting King Charles.
“It’s a real honour to have had the opportunity to celebrate this award at Windsor Castle and to see so many other fantastic businesses being recognised for their work in the local community. This nomination is a testament to the hard work of everyone at Netmatters, and we’re excited to continue our mission of creating opportunities through the Scion Scheme and supporting our community.” - James Gulliver, Managing Director
An Exciting Future: Netmatters Scion Scheme
From its beginnings in 2017 to address a shortfall in the business for technical roles, to winning the Princess Royal Training Awards in 2020 and 2023, to now being recognised in the King’s Award For Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity, we’re so proud of how far the Scion Scheme has come. We’re committed to bridging the skills gap in our local community by providing excellent training and development to those who need it most. Pioneered by Kayleigh Hall, we’re sure the scheme will continue going from strength to strength.
With no experience required, if you are interested in joining the Scion Training Scheme or want to develop your passions for technology and development, contact us today or fill in the form below and start your journey as a web developer!
