Netmatters Reach Significant Ecologi Milestones

Since 2021, we have been proud partners of Ecologi, funding over 10,000 trees and offsetting more than 807 tonnes of CO2e through verified climate projects around the world - and we're just getting started.

Back in March 2021 we proudly announced that we had hit Carbon Neutral status. As part of this announcement we talked about our commitment to the Ecologi programme. On a monthly basis we offset a proportion of the carbon we produce by planting trees through Ecologi into our virtual forest.

Ecologi then plant trees in the real world on our behalf, which have a real-world impact on helping to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels around the world. Some of the projects that we have been able to support alongside the tree planting include:

  • Small scale onshore wind projects in India
  • Producing electricity from solar energy in Vietnam
  • Protecting old-growth rainforest in Peru
  • Protecting lowland peat forest in Indonesia
  • Producing energy from waste rice husks in India
  • Cleaner cookstoves in Zambia and Ghana
  • Converting landfill gas to energy in Northern Turkey
  • Geothermal power production in West Java, Indonesia

You can see details of all of the projects that we have supported on our Ecologi profile here

We are thrilled to have already reached some fantastic milestones since joining the programme, having now funded over 10,000 trees. Closer to home, we are also proud to have funded the planting of 900 trees in Breckland. The amount of carbon we have been able to offset can be visualised in the following way:

Signing up for Ecologi is simple and easy and is an opportunity for every business and individual to do their part to help offset their carbon emissions. If you sign up through the Netmatters profile for your own forest, Ecologi will plant additional trees in both your forest and ours.

Our commitment to the environment is reflected across every aspect of how we operate, including our company fleet. As of 2025, our fleet of 17 vehicles included 12 Full Electric Vehicles (70%), 4 Petrol Hybrid Vehicles (23%), and just 1 Diesel Vehicle (7%). We are also pleased to share that we have added an additional electric vehicle to the fleet in 2025, continuing our drive toward a fully electric future.

This commitment extends to our premises too. We are currently refurbishing the rear section of Unit 15, installing new electrics, air conditioning, heating and cooling systems, and additional insulation to the walls and ceiling - all improvements designed to make our workspace more energy efficient.

We are proud to have been recognised with the 2024 Gold Carbon Charter Award, an independent accreditation that recognises businesses leading the way in low carbon management. You can see more about our environmental policy and work here.
