Wallace Robinson & Morgan

Wallace Robinson & Morgan is a long-established law firm based in Solihull, with a heritage dating back to 1855. For generations, the firm has supported individuals and businesses across the West Midlands, delivering trusted legal services spanning family law, wills and probate, residential conveyancing, employment law, dispute resolution, and commercial property. 

As a busy law firm, their website plays a pivotal role in generating new enquiries across multiple departments. It acts as both a first impression for prospective clients and a key touchpoint in their decision-making process. The firm required a website that would more accurately reflect its reputation, while making it easier for users to access the right legal services quickly and confidently so they could continue growing.

The brief

As time passed, the existing website no longer aligned with the firm’s standing or the quality of service it provided. While functional, it began to lack the clarity, structure, and level of presentation expected of a modern legal practice. 

Users trying to locate services struggled with the navigation, and service pages lacked key information that supported quick decision-making. Moreover, calls to action were present but not consistently positioned to guide users towards making contact, potentially limiting enquiry opportunities. 

The objective was to design and develop a modern, intuitive website that would: 

  • Reflect the firm’s heritage and professionalism  
  • Improve usability and navigation across all service areas  
  • Present information in a clear, accessible format  
  • Support and enhance enquiry generation

Our approach

The project began with a dedicated discovery phase, where we worked closely with the team at Wallace Robinson & Morgan. This stage was led by our web designer, Jaz, and focused on understanding the firm’s heritage, client base, and commercial objectives, as well as identifying the key challenges users were experiencing on the existing website. 

Working within a theme-based build, we carefully balanced creative ambition with platform constraints. A key objective was to retain and respect the firm’s established identity while refining the overall user journey and bringing the experience in line with modern expectations. 

The previous website had become difficult to navigate, with dated layouts and a structure that was not optimised for mobile or contemporary browsing. Our goal was to modernise the experience without losing the familiarity and heritage that existing clients value, creating a site that feels both refreshed and recognisably Wallace Robinson & Morgan.

The Solution

Building the Structure

With the discovery findings in place, we worked to reorganise the website structure. Legal services were grouped into clear, logical categories, making it easier for users to quickly understand what the firm offers and find the support they need.


In addition, we placed core legal services more clearly on the homepage, helping guide visitors more naturally from the moment they arrive. This would create a more intuitive experience for both first-time users and those returning with a specific requirement.

Designing for Clarity

Once the structure was defined, we collaborated with the team at WRM to carefully rework each service page. We focused on improving clarity, reducing cognitive load, and removing overly technical language.

We presented information in a more digestible format, supported by clear hierarchies, consistent layouts, and well-defined sections. This helps users navigate complex legal topics with greater ease and confidence.

Creating Moments for Conversion

While usability remained a key priority, we also focused on ensuring the site actively encouraged enquiries. To support this, we integrated calls to action throughout the site and positioned them at natural decision points in the user journey.

Whether a visitor is ready to make contact or still exploring their options, we ensured the site would provide clear, timely prompts that encouraged the next step, helping drive meaningful engagement from every page.

Building Trust Through People

Given the importance of trust in the legal sector, we also worked to reintroduce a stronger focus on the firm's people. We elevated partner and solicitor profiles within the design, helping to highlight expertise, experience, and approachability.

This people-first approach reinforces credibility and helps prospective clients build a connection with the team from the outset.
